Isyah Asher

Isyah Asher was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1998 and grew up surrounded by creativity. With a mother who is a singer and actress, a father who is a bassist, and a sister who is a singer-songwriter. This vibrant artistic environment significantly influenced his development and artistic sensibilities. From a young age, Asher showed a keen interest in abstract art, starting with countless sketches and progressing to sculptures made from stone and clay. At eighteen, he decided to expand
his artistic horizons and taught himself to paint on large canvas. This self-directed approach allowed him to develop a unique style that blends modern pop art with expressionist abstraction. His early work quickly gained commercial success and was exhibited in Hamburg, Berlin and New York. In later years, Asher also took inspiration from life in a big city, using its architecture, busy streets and graffiti filled walls as blueprints for his paintings, adding to his already vibrant and dynamic style.

 

Asher’s artworks are characterized by vibrant, energetic and abstract compositions that capture the essence of music and movement. His paintings reflect his upbringing in a musical family, where rhythms and melodies were a constant presence. This background has deeply influenced his artistic approach, infusing his work with a sense of dynamism and rhythm. He combines modern pop art with expressionist abstraction to create a unique visual experience. His use of calligraphy-like lines, large brushstrokes and spray work is designed to evoke a sense of motion and dynamic, making each piece feel alive with energy. By blending traditional techniques with contemporary styles, he explores how visual art can represent the vibrancy of music and rhythm. Furthermore, capturing depth and dynamic in his paintings, he later cut up different paintings and sewed them back together. This technique allows him to showcase different emotions and painting techniques and combine them into a completely new painting and experience.
