Amanda Noble
Artist
Amanda Noble is an emerging international artist best known for her vibrant pop-realism paintings and contemporary portraits. Working in both painting and sculpture, Noble's creations encapsulate the era marked by the significant expansion of technology's influence on our daily existence. During her formative years, she resided in Aizuwakamatsu, Japan, where her immersion in Japanese art and culture distinctly influences the themes present in her artwork. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
My artistic exploration delves into the intricate interplay between technology and the human experience through large scale, pop-art infused oil paintings; exploring themes of ‘the self’ and the perspective one has with one’s self through the lens of social media. The use of paper flowers is representative of the artificial and deceptive nature of technology as we become progressively more advanced and immersed in the digital world. The process of creating the large oil paintings involve the sculpting of physical objects using various materials such as clay or paper. Photographs are used to capture every detail of the subject and used as reference for the final painting to allow a great level of realism. My intention is to create a conversation and contemplation about technology's impact on our bodies and our minds and how we view ourselves through the lens of technology and social media. I strive to encapsulate a narrative that speaks to the repercussions of our deepening reliance on technology.
